Who am I: I was born at an Army hospital and raised as an Army brat. I lived all over the United States and in Europe. I decided to enlist in the world’s leader in littoral warfare (U.S. Navy) and am now a retired Aviation Electronics Technician Petty Officer First Class (Air Warfare). I completed twenty years of active service in the U.S. Navy on 31 August 2002. During those twenty years, I didn’t do anything heroic or anything extraordinary. All I did was what I was supposed to do. And after twenty years, I can say I’m proud to have served my country.
What I do for a living: Currently I am Mr. Mom. I used to work as a Correctional Officer for the State of Florida at Avon Park Correctional Institution, but for political reasons I was unable to go to dayshift when my lovely wife started working as a RN on night shift. Seeing how she makes more $$$ than I did and one of us had to quit... Hello stay-at-home-dad! I used to work for Sebring Signal, INC and before that for Vectra Corporation as their Technical and Design Engineer. Prior to that, I worked for Bud’s GoKarts in Harwich, MA. By the way, all three companies are owned by the same guy. Before that, I was employed full time for Central Bucks Ambulance and Rescue Unit out of Doylestown. I also worked for CPR Heart Starters where I taught Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Automated External Defibrillators, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens. Before that? Navy… I am qualified to work on acoustic and non-acoustic Anti-Submarine systems, radios, radar, navigational systems, computers, infrared, lasers, and CCTV as well. None of which helped me to find employment.
I am also currently going to Kaplan University as a full time student for my Masters in Criminal Justice with an emphasis on Corrections. I finished my Bachelors in Criminal Justice with an emphasis on Forensic Psychology. All this after years of not having any educational benefits, Uncle Sam decided to give me some. It's called the Post 9/11 GI Bill.
Hobbies: Spoiling Abby, making Becky smile, keeping up with Chris, tickling AJ and Becky, keeping Abby's truck clean, tweaking computers (wife says messing them up!), WoW, surfing the net for a better way to do things. NOTE: the preceding is listed in order of preference!
